How to Lose a Double Chin

The face is the most prominent and defining feature of the human being. We know people by their faces. We read emotions and communicate ideas through facial expressions. Very often, a person’s looks are judged by their face.

For these reasons and more, eliminating the double chin is an important goal—not only for your physical appearance, but also for your general health. Here are some tips on how to lose a double chin.

Healthy Weight

The number one way to reduce fat and sagging skin around the jaw and neck is to achieve and maintain a healthy weight. This is easily accomplished, not through fads and diets, but from a steady, consistent culinary lifestyle of health. Choose a way of eating that not only is maintainable, but that is “you.” The goal here is to establish healthy eating patterns that you can carry through your whole life, not just a two week diet. Also it is absolutely crucial that you drink plenty of fluids every day, and concentrate on water. Water flushes out toxins and literally slims you down.

Making a few simple changes in your daily life can help you take off pounds easily. Here are some simple tips –

– A recent report by Virginia Tech researchers found that people who drink a glass of water prior to eating breakfast, consume 75 less calories. This results in a weight loss of almost 7 pounds a year and is so easy. Through out the day drink plenty of water and iced tea. Avoid soda (diet or regular), juice and other drinks that can pack on the pounds. Consider buying an iced tea maker. It is inexpensive and makes delicious iced tea. Neck Wrinkles

Knowing how the deal with neck wrinkles can be a struggle. There’s so many treatment options out there, and you may not know the best way to approach your unique problem. One of the most effective and dramatic treatments for neck wrinkles is neck lift surgery. Neck lift surgery unquestionably works, but it is invasive, expensive, and may cause scarring. However, with a good plastic surgeon and proper procedure a neck lift can be a great, permanent option.

Fillers are another option. Botox is often used for treating neck wrinkles and sagging necks. Botox is a temporary fix that works with the muscles in your neck to firm up your skin to reduce sags and wrinkles. The injections only take a couple of minutes and are relatively painless. If you want to maintain the results, you will need semi-regular Botox injections. Laser skin tightening is another possibility. You will want to discuss these treatment options with a board certified plastic surgeon to see if they are right for you.

There are many methods you can try at home to help with wrinkles on the neck. Though these will not give as dramatic results as surgery, they can be very beneficial and improve the neck area.

First, like the old saying goes; an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. If you haven’t developed neck wrinkles taking precautions is always advised. If you have wrinkles you will want to take action to prevent future ones from forming. You should wash your neck just like you wash your face, to prevent dirt and oils from damaging the skin. If you are going to be out in the sun, wear sunscreen, as sun damage is one of the leading causes of skin aging. Moisturizing on a regular basis can help prevent neck wrinkles and plump up the ones that are already there.

Exfoliation can help rejuvenate the neck. With exfoliation dead skin cells are removed revealing the skin below. This helps diminish the signs of wrinkles and damaged skin. There are a number of ways to exfoliate. One method is the MicrodermMD Microdermabrasion At Home system. This device brings the many benefits of microdermabrasion into your home at a very affordable cost. You can pick it up at Amazon here: MicrodermMD – Home Microdermabrasion Machine w/ AUTO Mode – Medical Grade – Diamond Tip – Anti Aging

In addition, using a quality anti wrinkle cream is advised. One good one to try is Dermagist Neck Restoration Cream.

Another non surgical treatment for neck wrinkles is the Microcurrent face lift. This is a non-invasive procedure that uses soft electric stimulation to promote skin health and repair, dramatically reducing the appearance of neck wrinkles and fine lines. You can enjoy the benefits of a microcurrent face lift at home using a . Other methods to consider include at home red light therapy and neck exercises. These techniques require multiple treatments to be effective and are not as dramatic, but they have far fewer risks and potential side effects than neck lift surgery.

When considering which treatment to pursue to deal with your neck wrinkles, be sure to weigh all the pros and cons of each option. Consider your budget, expectations, time table, and health concerns. It’s always advisable to talk to a doctor before beginning any new skin treatment. You can be free of neck wrinkles and look years younger. There is no “correct” path to take, so take your time and make the best choice for you.

Neck Liposuction

Have you struggled to get rid of your double chin, but nothing seems to work? Even if you lose weight everywhere else, it can seem like your neck fat simply stays put, unwilling to budge. Many people get fat deposits in their neck even though they aren’t overweight, and can’t find a way to address them on their own. If you are in this situation, neck liposuction may be for you.

For many people, neck liposuction presents a better option than neck lift surgery because it avoids the scars and surgical look of a finished neck lift procedure. Those who are good candidates for neck liposuction don’t have issues with loose skin as much as unattractive fat deposits. Neck liposuction is not a good option for wrinkle removal or addressing “turkey neck,” a product of a muscle issue in the neck, although it can easily be combined with other procedures to address multiple problems.

Neck liposuction is performed with a powerful vacuum machine that removes excess fat cells through a series of carefully placed steel tubes. Pain killing medication is administered during the procedure, which generally takes an hour to complete. Unlike many plastic surgery procedures, neck liposuction is an outpatient procedure. After you recover from the anesthesia, you will be free to go home, although it may be advisable to have someone else drive for you.

After neck liposuction has been completed, you will have to wear a supportive bandage to allow the remaining fat cells, muscle tissue, and skin to readjust to the radical change and heal properly. During the time you wear the supportive bandage, your skin and muscles will repair themselves and tighten, resulting in a more attractive look.

Neck liposuction may leave some residual scarring, and some patients opt to undergo chemical peels or laser resurfacing to address these scars. This will vary from person to person, and the amount of scarring, if there is any, will depend on the individual procedure. Your plastic surgeon can advise you about what to expect, and any treatments that you should consider in addition to neck liposuction.

There are many plastic surgeon who perform neck liposuction, so do your homework and check for reviews of their work before you book a procedure. When you go for your initial consultation, prepare yourself by writing down questions and researching neck liposuction so your doctor can address any specific concerns you may have. Your surgeon may want to perform blood tests and a physical examination. They do so with your best interests at heart; to ensure that you are healthy enough for the surgery and to determine if they need to take any special precautions or use alternative medications.

A neck liposuction procedure can take years off your appearance and give you a new confidence that you never thought was possible. Neck liposuction has a minimum of potential complications and side effects compared to most other surgical procedures. Ask your doctor for more information, and to determine if neck liposuction is right for you.

Non Surgical Neck Lift

If you have a sagging neck that lets everyone know how old you are, you’re not alone. But what can you do about it? Getting a neck lift delivers results, but costs thousands of dollars, is incredibly painful, and involves invasive surgery. Fortunately, thanks to advances in medical science, you can now get a non surgical neck lift. One popular method is by using radio wave frequency.

A non-surgical neck lift offers the ability for you to enjoy firmer, tighter skin around your jawline, reduces the appearance of scarring, and softens the lines that can lead to wrinkles. The use of targeted radio waves combined with cooling waves allows health care professionals to perform a neck lift without surgery. When the hot radio waves come in contact with your skin, it causes a reaction in your collagen. The collagen reacts to the radio waves by tightening and strengthening, which leads to firmer, healthier, younger looking skin.

During a radio wave non surgical neck lift procedure, you may experience some pain, and you may have swelling for roughly a week. It’s possible that you could experience burns to your skin in the event of a mishap, but with a skilled technician there are very low chances of burns occurring.

Before the procedure begins, you may be given pain medication. What type and how strong varies depending on the areas worked, the machinery used, your health, and what a doctor recommends. Typically, oral medication will be given in combination with a topical medication. The area will be numb before the procedure starts.

The radio frequency machine emits pulses to the skin, when the technician passes it over the areas being treated. Some people don’t feel anything at all, and others do experience some degree of pain. This all depends on the individual and the medication given; there is no accurate way to predict what you will experience personally. The procedure takes about two hours from start to finish. If you were given a very strong pain killer, you may need someone to drive you home. Your doctor will let you know beforehand if this is the case.

Unlike a traditional neck lift, the radio frequency non surgical neck lift will not show results immediately. It takes time for the collagen in your skin to react and respond to the radio waves that they were exposed to. You can expect to start seeing results in one month, with the final results manifesting themselves after roughly six months. After your skin has fully adjusted, the results of the procedure will last from five to ten years. If no problems appeared after the procedure was conducted, there will be no long-term health effects.

A neck lift without surgery is a great option for those who don’t want anything as drastic as a full-blown plastic surgery procedure, but still want to address their aging skin. A radio wave non surgical necklift offers a less expensive, less invasive alternative to conventional medical procedures while still giving you the youthful look you crave and the confidence you need.

We share more methods for a non surgical neck lift in our article; Neck Lift Without Surgery.

Neck Lift Surgery

As we age, our genetics, gravity, the sun, and everything we consume or exposure ourselves to takes a toll on our appearance. One of the first places to show the signs of aging and damage is the neck. As we age, many of us develop excess skin and unwanted wrinkles, folds, double chins, and more. Neck lift surgery is one of the most effective ways to treat these conditions, but it is not for everybody. Before you consider neck lift surgery, you should understand the benefits and the risks.

The first step towards neck lift surgery is a consultation with a plastic surgeon. Your surgeon will look over your medical history and make sure you are healthy enough for the procedure. Make sure you tell your surgeon what your goals are with as much detail as possible. Your surgeon will let you know if those goals are realistic, and if so, what it will take to obtain them. Some surgeons charge for consultations, but may put the subtract the cost of the consultation from the price of the surgery if you decide to proceed. Whatever you do, don’t feel pressured to book on day one; take your time and consider everything.

If you decide neck lift surgery is for you, you’ll have some preparation to do. You will be given directions to follow, such as stopping certain pain relievers and avoiding certain substances. You will most likely be given some prescriptions that you should fill before you have your neck lift surgery. In addition, your surgeon may want to do some routine blood work and have a general examination to make sure that any potential complications are identified and addressed so they don’t become problems.

A neck lift surgery may only require two incisions behind and below your ears, or more under your chin if the surgeon is altering you platysma muscle. The platysma muscle is responsible for holding your skin firm and taught, and it may be altered as part of your neck lift surgery. Your surgeon will let you know exactly where incisions will be made and what will be altered and changed. You may or may not have stitches afterward, it depends on the nature of your individual neck lift surgery and what the surgeon views as the best recovery path.

It’s common to experience discomfort and pain after a neck lift surgery, but this canbe managed with medication. A neck lift surgery also offers the advantage of seeing results as soon as the bandages come off, although you may experience some swelling, bruising, and generally not look like yourself for a little while after the procedure. However, recovery is quick and the results will be drastic and permanent.

Talking to a plastic surgeon is the best way to see if neck lift surgery is appropriate for you. When you go to your consultation, write down any questions you have to make sure you don’t forget them. There are no stupid questions, so don’t be bashful. Preparation is the name of the game, so go slow and don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it!

Laser Skin Tightening

One method used to tighten neck skin and the chin area is laser skin tightening. Though laser neck tightening is not as dramatic as a surgical neck lift, it can be beneficial. Often it is used in combination with fillers such as Botox.

With a laser skin tightening procedure, a doctor or technician uses a highly focused laser to heat up very small sections beneath the outer layer of your skin. This intense and precision-focused heat causes the lower layers of your skin to react by producing collagen. As the collagen rushes to heal the damage done by the laser, it becomes a permanent part of your skin’s structure, firming and tightening the affected skin immediately.

How Fast Does It Work?

You will be able to see noticeable results the minute you finish the procedure, though the results will slowly become more and more pronounced over a period of three to four weeks. The effect are permanent, which is not to say that you will stop aging, but that the collagen produced through this procedure will remain a part of your skin. For best results a series of treatments will be needed.

Will Anyone Know I’ve Had A Cosmetic Procedure?

The results of a laser neck lift will vary from person to person. More dramatic in some and less so in others. It really depends on how the skin looked to start with and it is best to discuss realistic expectations with a trained specialist There are no outward signs indicating that a procedure has been performed such as scarring, sores, sutures, or bandages. Because all of the action takes place beneath the outer layers of your skin, you can go about your daily business soon after with no downtime.

What Areas Does Laser Skin Tightening Work On?

Laser skin tightening has been used with success to tighten neck skin, the chin area, saggy knees, elbows, underarms, and other body parts. Often loose skin is more pronounced in non-facial areas on the body, so keep in mind that the procedure has it’s limits. You’ll see improvements, but you can’t get back the neck you had at nineteen through laser skin tightening.

How Much Does It Cost?

Laser skin tightening isn’t too awfully expensive when compared to other cosmetic procedures and surgeries. Prices will vary depending depending on the location and equipment used. Expect to pay several hundred dollars a session. Often discount packages are available for multiple sessions. This compares favorably to injected wrinkle fillers like collagen. The bonus here is that a collagen injection will eventually wear off, but the natural collagen produced through laser skin tightening are yours to keep.

Many physicians and laser hair removal centers offer free consultations. This is a good way to evaluate if laser skin tightening is right for your needs and discuss all the options.

In this article you will find some simple solutions that can help give you a more beautiful neck fast including a step by step plan!

Wikipedia defines turkey neck as subcutaneous fat around the neck that sags down and creates a wrinkle, making the owner appear to have a second chin. In reality, there can be a number of causes for the condition commonly called turkey neck, including excess fat, too much skin, overall tissue sagging, or loosened musculature.

Most of these conditions come on with age, though turkey neck can strike even younger people.

Naturally neck surgery is going to give the most dramatic results but you can greatly improve the appearance of turkey neck with out the expense, downtime and risk of under going the knife.

For best results use several techniques in combination.

Neck Firming Cream

A neck cream is one of the easiest, least invasive ways to help improve the appearance of turkey neck. But all neck creams are not created equal. The best neck creams for turkey neck have powerful, active ingredients that can help to increase skin elasticity and promote the production of natural collagen.

One of the best neck firming creams to try is Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream.

This best selling cream is specifically designed for the thinning tissue of the neck and face. It contains an amino-peptide complex, intracellular fortifier and marine proteins to firm sagging areas, restore elasticity and smooth skin.

You should combine the neck cream with other techniques to give the most powerful lift and tightening to the neck.

Here are some techniques that combined with a neck cream can help make a beautiful difference in your neck.

Using an at home microdermabrasion device at home is a great way to improve the appearance of the neck. It is affordable and convenient. In just one treatment, your neck will look smoother and this will improve with continued use. With a microdermabrasion device, you exfoliate the skin at a deep level. This removes the superficial top layers, revealing the fine skin beneath.

This is an excellent tool for both your face and neck. It helps remove fine lines, get rid of acne scars, even skin tone and more. And it works fast. Most people see results immediately. The skin looks and feels softer.

It also prepares the skin, allowing for deeper penetration of a neck firming cream.

One of the best systems is MicrodermMD. Though this at home system is not cheap. You will save hundreds of dollars doing it yourself at home over the cost of going to a spa.

Exfoliation is one of the best ways to help rejuvenate your skin.

Skin Supplements
Neither a lot more or less invasive than creams and lotions, I place the use of skin supplements below these solutions only because they tend to take longer to work. Skin supplements can help to increase the elasticity, thickness, and health of the skin, as well as supporting overall health, wellness, healing, and immune response. Some commonly used skin supplements for treating turkey neck include vitamins A, E, and C; Dimethylaminoethenol; and Alpha-lipoic Acid. These skin supplements can work solo, but work best when used together, as their effects are both cumulative and synergistic, so check the ingredients on any blended products you choose to take.

Weight Loss
If the turkey neck is caused by excess weight, losing weight will help. Use a quality program. One new method that is working for many people is Intermittent Fasting. You can read my book on it here: Intermittent Fasting: The Feast and Fast DietIntermittent Fasting: The Feast and Fast Diet

Neck Exercise

Following these simple steps will make a beautiful difference in your neck!

There are also cosmetic surgery procedures available for Turkey Neck. These can be expensive but effective.

Surgical Neck Lift
A surgical neck lift will provide immediate, noticeable improvements in turkey neck, and can consist of any combination of a number of different procedures including fat removal, muscle tightening, strategically-placed sutures, and the actual removal of excess skin as in neck and chin liposuction. The cost of these procedures will run you between four and more than ten grand, and recovery time can be as little as four days to more than a month. The procedure itself may take less than an hour, but usually takes between two and four hours to complete. The positives here are that the results are the most impressive you’ll see, with the down sides being cost and the invasive nature of surgical solutions.

Cosmetic injectables run the gamut from silicone to Botox to collagen, and a number of other options, natural and synthetic, common and proprietary. Each injectable product has different properties to consider. Some are all natural, while some are very much not. Some provide near-permanent results, while others tend to wear off over time and need to be repeated. Finally, the cost of injectable varies widely. A neck treatment might be had for a couple hundred bucks and repeated every so often for best effect, or a more permanent and high-end product could cost many thousands of dollars. The procedure is less invasive than surgery, but still carries some medical risk of adverse reactions, infection, or uneven settling of product under the skin.

Turkey neck can be a potentially embarrassing and upsetting condition, but is rarely as noticeable as you may think. Solutions exist, and can have a great impact on the appearance of turkey neck.

Our recommendation is to try the “Simple Steps to Diminish the Signs of Turkey Neck at Home” listed above. It is amazing how much of a difference you can make in your neck with a just a few minutes a day! Give it a try and see for yourself!

Chin Implant

When it comes to having implant surgery, the chin is probably the last place considered. However a chin implant is performed for several reasons. Most often it is done to correct what is called a “weak chin”, which basically means that the chin line is not very well defined. This can lead to the appearance of an overly fat or fleshy neck. It can also make the nose appear larger than it actually is on the face. Aside from its cosmetic complications a weak chin can also contribute to jaw and teeth problems. On the other side of the coin, an overly prominent chin can make the nose appear smaller. The desirable outcome here is to have a balanced looking face, and the chin is important to this effort.

People who wish to have chin augmentation done may find the requirements quite strict. A patient must be in good physical health and have no pre-existing conditions before surgery is considered. A patient cannot have suffered from a bone disorder. Patients cannot have taken the drug Accutane for at least six months, or preferably longer. Accutane has been shown to cause adverse side effects during a transplant process. It promotes bone growth in the facial areas at wildly accelerated rates. This is called keloidism and can be quite painful to go through and even more so to have treated.

The patient must also be mentally and emotionally stable to go through the chin implants procedure. Due to the long time in healing, and the pain that can follow during the healing process, it is not recommended for people who have trouble controlling their emotions. If you are considering a chin implant you will want to discuss the short and long term benefits and side effects with a physician.

Even though a chin implant is not a very difficult surgical procedure, complications can develop. One of the most common is an allergic reaction to whatever anesthetic is used. Another common problem is infection of the surgical site. The skin on the face is very sensitive. Any problems could have long term effects. Smokers are advised to quit before having this procedure done. Nicotine can constrict the blood vessels during the healing process, which leads to something called necrosis, which is a fancy way of saying your skin will fall off if you don’t put that cigarette out.

A chin implant can make a dramatic difference in your appearance. Discuss it with a board cerfified physician to see if it is the right option for you.

Neck Firming Cream

Neck firming cream

For some, droopy, sagging, “turkey-neck,” is an unavoidable part of aging. The combination of excess fat stored in the neck and a loss of elasticity and firmness in the skin leads to this unfortunate and unattractive condition.

While surgical procedures like a “neck lift,” and liposuction can have an impressive effect on sagging neck skin, these procedures can be expensive, painful, and risky. In some cases, surgical solutions place you at real risk of infection. It’s understandable, then that many are looking for a less-invasive solution to drooping neck skin and turkey-neck. One commonly advertised solution is a topical neck firming cream. Can these creams be effective? What should one look for in a good neck firming cream? In this article, we’ll answer these questions and more about neck firming creams.

Do neck firming creams work? In some cases they can be very effective. When coupled with focused weight loss efforts, neck firming cream can be an incredibly useful part of an overall strategy to lose underlying neck fat while firming and tightening the skin. Neck firming creams will never deliver the overnight results of a neck-life procedure, but over time, they can deliver impressive and visible results.

What to Look for in a Neck Firming Cream.

A neck firming cream should contain ingredients designed to reduce fat deposits, tighten the skin, stimulate circulation, heal damaged skin such as sun spots, reduce wrinkles, and moisturize.

We recommend Dermagist Neck Cream (also known as Dermajuv). Dermagist contains a weath of nutrient rich ingredients including Stem Cells, Sesaflash, Hyaluronic Acid and Matryxil.

Get the Best Results with a Neck Firming Cream

To get great results with a Neck Firming Cream you will need to exfoliate the skin on a regular basis. Exfoliants can be chemical (examples include lemon juice or alpha hydroxy acid) or mechanical (such as oatmeal or micro-bead scrubs) and work to remove old, dead, and dying skin cells from the skin’s surface, exposing the younger, more elastic skin underneath. We personally recommend the MicrodermMD Microdermabrasion System for exfoliation. This works wonders to soften and smooth skin.

You can learn more about MicrodermMD here; MicrodermMD

Proper exfoliation should not be painful, but can leave a mild burning sensation behind. Exfoliated skin is more supple than older skin cells, and will respond better to the firming action of the antioxidants in the neck firming cream. Antioxidants combat aging and free the body’s immune system to heal and firm your skin by neutralizing free radicals – chemical elements that can damage skin cells and prevent regeneration. Freed from the work of fighting free radicals, your body can focus on healing. Many antioxidants also stimulate the development and production of natural collagen, a known skin firming component within the skin. Follow the directions on the exfoliant you are using and adjust to your skin type to determine how often to exfoliate the skin.

With smooth, exfoliated skin apply neck firming cream lightly to the neck in an upward direction. You want to lift up the skin, not tug it downwards. It is important to be consistent and use the neck cream on a regular basis. Use once or twice a day depending on the cream you are using.

Sun protection is important when you are regularly exfoliating, as the younger skin cells you are exposing are less able to protect themselves from the sun’s harsh rays, which means you will burn more easily. Look for something with an SPF of 30 or above, or make sure to use a separate sunscreen when you’ll be exposed to direct sun. Moisturizers plump the skin up, and hydrate your skin cells, not only making them firmer and more flexible, but allowing the cells to perform their other duties of maintenance and elimination much more efficiently. This cellular energy savings allows the cells to commit more resources to healing and skin health.

While some neck firming creams do contain sunscreen, many do not because the chemicals when mixed together in a bottle would interfere with the effectiveness of the product. Check your neck firming cream to see if it contains sunscreen and if it does not be sure to use sunscreen on a daily basis. La Roche Posay is a good one.

Neck firming cream can be a great alternative to invasive surgical procedures or even botox injections. Make sure to check the ingredients of the product you choose for the elements listed above. Given time, a quality neck firming cream can make a noticeable improvement for a sagging, droopy neck.

Want a beautiful, neck that is buttery soft? Exfoliate with MicrodermMD. Use Dermagist Neck Cream and be sure to use a good sunscreen like La Roche Posay.
